Introducing ModChain: One Platform, Every Stage

Brian D · Researcher 1 May 2026 4 min read

Today we're announcing the public launch of ModChain — Australia's first integrated AI and blockchain platform built specifically for the modular housing sector. This is a milestone we've been working toward since our founding, and we're proud to share what we've built.

Why We Built ModChain

When we started talking to modular builders, developers, and suppliers across Australia, the same frustrations came up again and again. Procurement managed in spreadsheets. Compliance documentation scattered across email threads. No visibility into where a module actually was between factory sign-off and site delivery. And disputes that dragged on for months because no one had a reliable record of what happened.

These weren't niche problems. They were systemic — and they were directly limiting the industry's ability to scale at the pace Australia's housing crisis demands. We built ModChain to solve them.

What the Platform Does

AI-Powered Procurement: ModChain's procurement module uses machine learning to forecast lead times, surface supplier risk, and automatically re-route orders when disruptions occur.

Blockchain-Verified Documentation: Every component, inspection, and handover event is recorded on an immutable ledger. Documentation is always current, always verifiable, and always accessible to every authorised party.

Compliance Automation: Our NCC compliance engine checks designs against current building code requirements in real time, flagging issues before they reach the approvals stage.

Smart Contract Milestones: Payment milestones are programmatically tied to verified project events, eliminating invoice processing delays that strain subcontractor cash flow.

What Comes Next

We're launching with a group of foundation customers across New South Wales and Victoria, and we'll be expanding nationally through 2026. If you're a modular builder, developer, or supplier and want to be part of the next intake, get in touch through our contact page.
